Mathew Waters CV

I have over 18 years experience in Software Engineering, having started at a manufacturing company part-time while I was at University. Later I continued full-time in electronic hardware design, designing both analogue and digital electronics to pass EMC and LVD. As I progressed through the company I started on embedded software and later, PC software. I am experienced in many computer technologies, from languages like C++, .NET, VB, Java, databases designed on Oracle, SQL Server and MySql to the new Internet standards such as SVG graphics, XML and transformations using XSLT.

One recent contract was the redesign of the TRUPRINT EPOS system for their retail business, as described on the website at http://geode.co.uk/truprint and am currently supporting the system whenever more changes are requested.

More recently I have been working for LODESTAR, who specialize in providing software to the energy industry. I was contracted for the design and development of custom ASP screens and Oracle PL/SQL procedures for their Web application and to allow negotiations of pricing. I have worked on numerous projects, from small ASP projects of a few days, to major projects such as EDF Energy and Gaz de France.

Previous to this I completed a project of nine months, which was to design and develop a remote data logger & monitoring station. The project involved the deisgn of all electronic hardware, embedded software and PC software right up to the GUI. This information is available on my web site at http://geode.co.uk/rdl.

I have strong Internet application development experience together with years of database design and tuning experience, both on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. I enjoy working with new technology, with short time-scales and am very customer focused.
